Entries have now closed for the 2021 South Australian Screen Awards - except for Best New First Nations Talent Award. This new award closes 11.59pm 20 September.
With judging conducted by leading professionals across the screen industry, the South Australian Screen Awards recognise outstanding talent in emerging South Australian storytellers and craft professionals. Winners across 21 categories share in over $35,000 of support and prizes from leading screen organisations and partners.
The South Australian Screen Awards - the SASAs - celebrate, and promote the best screen works of the South Australian screen industry. The awards are open to professional and emerging screen practitioners.
In addition to short-form genre and craft categories across a range of formats including games, a number of awards are offered to individuals including the Emerging Producer Award, Young Filmmaker Award, Best Student Film and First Nations Award.
The pinnacle award is the Grand Jury Prize for an outstanding work in any category.
We are delighted this year to announce that the prestigious City of Adelaide Mercury Award, is presented to an established industry professional in any discipline or craft field, who has achieved significant national and international career success as well as making an outstanding contribution to the South Australian screen industry. Previous winners include cinematographer Ernie Clark and Casting Director Angela Heesom.
The 2021 Red Carpet Awards will be held at the Mercury Cinema on Friday 26 November 2021.

Young Screen Maker Award
The best achievement in a creative or technical role by a screen practitioner who is 26 years or under as of 1 August 2021. Please provide CV and tick appropriate box on the application form.
Emerging Producer
Recognizes outstanding potential by a practitioner who has not yet produced a feature-length work or a commercial work for broadcast television of one hour or more. Please provide CV and tick the appropriate box when submitting the application.
Best New First Nations Talent Award
Recognises an individual identified as emerging talent from First Nations creatives and crew
Presented in conjunction with SAFC.
City of Adelaide Mercury Award
For an established screen industry professional for outstanding contribution to the SA industry. This award is peer-nominated and winner selected by the board of Mercury CX.N.B. This award was held over in 2020 and will be presented at the 2021 Awards
