Assessment Process

In line with prevailing screen industry standards, all applications must be completed in full and submitted by the deadline. Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted.

Stage 1. Written Application (online application form and uploaded attachments).

Stage 2. Shortlisted applicants are notified.

Stage 3. Shortlisted teams pitch at the Pitch-o-rama! event as part of the Screenmakers Conference in front of an industry panel, who will select the winner by the end the day, 8 October 2021.

You must be registered for MCX Screenmakers conference with either a PITCH PASS or an ALL ACCESS pass to enter PITCH-O-RAMA.

Have all your attachments completed, ready for uploading, before you begin to fill in the details of the application form.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS AND MATERIALS

The form will require you to provide the following information. Compile this information before completing the form as it cannot be saved part way through the application. 


  • Name of applicant/s (please ensure you use the same details as your MCX Screenmakers registration)
  • Role of applicant/s (producer, creator, writer, director etc.)
  • Title of project
  • Do you or any members of your team come from an underrepresented community? 
  • Do you have any access requirements?
  • Are you or members of your team based in a regional area?
  • Is your project based in a regional area or the story relevant to a regional area?


UPLOAD the following ATTACHMENTS:


Attachment 1

Bio for each applicant uploaded as one document (no longer than 2 pages in total).


Attachment 2

  • A project summary page (no longer than 200 words) that includes the following:
  • Project title
  • Genre
  • Proposed Duration and number of episodes
  • Logline
  • Synopsis (no more than half a page)


Attachment 3

A statement detailing: (no longer than 500 words)

  • How this opportunity will assist in advancing your career.
  • What the next planned stages of development are for your project: ie: proof of concept, script editor, writer's room, series bible, episode outline, legals etc.
  • Where you believe the project will live on the ABC – what platform or channel and, if applicable, what time slot?
  • Your planned distribution pathway.
  • Why the project should be considered by the ABC?


Attachment 4

Producer Statement: For the producer, if you wish to be considered for the Producer award (a full registration to attend Screen Forever in November 2021) please provide a statement (no longer than 400 words) outlining how this will assist your project and benefit your career at this particular time.


Once these materials have been compiled, commence completing the application form.
